Anchor Text: Psalm 128:1–4
“Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.”
From this passage, we can observe several key truths about the Kingdom Man:
A. The Kingdom person is one who fears the LORD.
B. The Kingdom person is one who walks in His ways.
C. For these to be realities in our lives, we must seek to know God and His ways.
In essence, it is in knowing and fearing Him that we are given the identity of the Kingdom-Man. Then, we are blessed.
D. This blessedness is explained as follows:
- We shall eat the fruit of the labour of our hands.
Not many have the opportunity to eat from the fruits of their labour. In short, most people work while others eat their fruits. - We shall experience happiness.
This is not just any happiness—it is the deep, lasting kind that comes from knowing God, fearing Him, and walking in His ways. - It shall be well with us.
This wellness encompasses the soul, spirit, and body. - We shall have a fruitful marriage and a goodly home—that is, the Kingdom-Home.
- Our children shall exhibit the characteristics of the olive tree: blessedness, peace, and purity.
E. The blessedness of the Kingdom-Man who fears God is reassured.
The condition for this blessedness is clearly stated: the fear of the LORD.
Let us pray:
Dear LORD,
Thank you for this revelation. Please help us to seek to know You and be ready and empowered to walk in Your ways. We know that in blessings, You will bless us.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
Blessings.
